Michael Sirois on Research, May 20
Michael Sirois, author of the novel The Jagged Man, suspended his fiction work a few years ago in order to write a non-fiction book about his brother Steve, who, Michael has informed me, is currently serving a 35-year sentence in a Texas prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Michael realized that with no DNA or other forensic evidence, and no reliable eyewitness accounts, Steve would never get a new trial without somehow bringing this injustice to light publicly -- and that meant research, and lots of it. One of the first discoveries Michael made was that researching for fiction and non-fiction are two very different, yet oddly similar endeavors.
On May 20th, 7:00 pm, Michael will discuss his own research journey and then open the discussion. This is one you writers will not want to miss.
