The next event at the Microscopic Theater will be a rare chance to meet and/or say hello to Phoebe Stubblefield, who will be home for the holidays from her studies in Paris. From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20th, Phoebe will be at the Microscopic (directions below) for an informal conversation and celebration. Wine, beer, cheese, bread, and random holiday treats will be available to all. Jerry and Cindy Stubblefield will serve as hosts.
Phoebe received her undergraduate degree in French with honors from UNC Chapel Hill. She has held study abroad residencies in France in Saumur (in the Loire Valley region) and has lived in Paris, working as an au pair while pursuing her Masters in French literature at The University of Paris, where she is also employed doing research in her field. Growing up in Asheville, Phoebe was vocalist in the family band The Stubblepuppies, performing hundreds of shows, many of which were done gratis for area rest homes. For this work she and her brother received the G.I.F.T. Heroes Award from WLOS TV. Her entire scholastic career is peppered with prestigious awards. But above all, she is a joy to talk with.
I know it's the busiest time of year for many of you. If you can attend this event, which will occur rain or shine, sleet, snow, flood or forest fires, please let me know by return email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Microscopic Theater is located through the back door at 144 Murdock Avenue in Asheville. Park on the street and walk down the gravel driveway to the back.
